The ReAnimania International Animation and Comics Art Film Festival was founded by cartoonist, artist and animator Vrej Kassouny and was launched in 2009 and marked a new beginning for the animation industry in Armenia. The festival has become a platform for the development and promotion of the animation industry in Armenia and abroad. As the largest animation event in the South Caucasus region, ReAnimania screens over 400 films annually and attracts over 10,000 spectators, guests and participants from all over the world, and this number continues to grow every year. The festival includes 15 competitive and non-competitive programs, as well as the “MarAni” (“Market of Animation”) platform, where professional meetings, master classes and panel discussions take place. This year, the ReA festival is celebrating its 15th anniversary and the 85th anniversary of Armenian animation.
