Robert Sahakyants
Born in Baku in 1950. He has lived in Yerevan since 1964, where he graduated from middle school and was accepted to Kh. Abovian’s Pedagogic Institute. In 1972, after four years of schooling, he was expelled from school for failing to attend classes. But by that time (1970), he was already working at “ArmenFilm Studio” as an animator. Sahakyants is the scriptwriter and artistic director for almost all his films. Robert Sahakyants’s films have been awarded at international festivals such as France, Italy, Germany, Japan, as well as soviet festivals such as Kiev, Yerevan, Moscow, Tallinn. In 2008, he received the title of National Artist of the Republic of Armenia.
